A busy Saturday for Seaford Lifeguards

News

It was a busy Saturday for Seaford Lifeguards with the Inshore Rescue Boat(IRB) being launched twice.

The hottest weekend of the year has started off busy for the local Seaford Lifeguards. The IRB was launched in the morning to a report from a member of public to two kayakers in difficulty around SplaSeaford Lifeguards Inshore rescue boatsh Point. The team quickly responded with a medic and lifeguard backing up via quad bike. The kayakers were located but not in any difficulty. The team was stood down and the member of public thanked for their concern for the kayakers.

Later on in the afternoon we were requested for an immediate launch of the IRB and full team search by Solent Coastguard after a Jet Ski was found off Newhaven harbour with no persons near by. The team made a quick response and quickly searched the water and beach and then located the two people from the Jet Ski at Newhaven Sailing club who were unaware that the Lifeguards, Lifeboat, Coastguard and Rescue Helicopter were out looking for them. They were advised by the coastguard and Seaford Lifeguards stood down.
